The Bird And The Bee are a synth duo from LA -a kinda really, really good version of She And Him. And their latest album (on Blue Note!) is a Hall And Oates cover album (Interpreting The Masters – Vol. 1 -eek).
I have heard two songs and bought one because, really, the “Rich Girl” -a pretty tough song anyway, didn’t quite happen. But on the strength of “Sara Smile” I’m seriously considering investing in the album. It is hard to go wrong on this song and the bird who is doing the singing doesn’t come close: she drifts dreamy into the girls smile. The Bee plays a lovely keyboard motif and the song is just a glorious seduction of the listener rather than the titular Sara.
