Contributor Bob Nevin and I were huge Sleater Kinney fans after watching em play a best concert ever at Summerstage maybe ten years ago or more.
Me? I adored their first three albums, I mean, if you are writing songs called “I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone”. But i ended up disappointed in their artier enterprises.
Still disappointed to see em go south for the winter four years ago.
So today Clash.com quoted guitarist Carrie Brownstein talking to IFC (whoever they might be) saying Sleater-Kinney could reform. But not for awhile. This is what she said:
“We spent 11 years committed, heart and soul. To get back into it we have to be in that place where we can immerse ourselves fully. I think it will happen. We have to loop around, and we’re at the far end of the circle, away from the band, but I think we will come back and revisit it. And hopefully that record will be sometime in the next five years.”
