If you can get over Taylor Swift owning a plane big enough to travel from nyc to London, her flying Harry Sykes back home while leaving the rest of the band "stranded" in New York (apparently all flights had been cancelled? Whatever) has her branded the Yoko Ono of 1D.
I love this story if for no other reason than the way it strips back the veneer of everygirl PR platitudes that surround Taylor and give you a glimpse of the real woman. A hugely successful model of the modern business person. Her all round skills at just about everything is a thing of beauty. She can't stop trading up.
I once wrote that all celebrities had more in common with each other (the example I used was Eddie Vedder and Liberace) but extremely rich people have even more in common (Swift is # 3 in Forbes Highest Paid Women in Hollywood… that will change in 2013 when she goes back on tour) with each other than they do with us. Money, the 1%, are all the same animal with little concept of what daily life is like for us.
Good for them, I don't care if people are rich as long as they play by the rules, as Swift does, but I do find her public persona a little difficult to maintain. How can Taylor have dated Connor Kennedy and followed it with Sykes, and still remain squeaky clean? With difficulty.
So now, she has a problem. Between stalkers who want to marry her and haters who are seriously furious about her relationship with Sykes, they are beginning to come after her. The Yoko Ono (quite amusing) gibe is just a manifestation of the well preserved PR facade Swift surrounds herself with, crumbling.
