1. Scream & Shout – Will I AM, Britney Spears – Return to form for the BEP leader after years in the wilderness, and always a pleasure to hear from Brit, except that if you wanna pout your hand in the flame you'll get burnt and Britney will be seen as the savior of this song. Because she is – Grade: B+

2. Toxic – Mark Ronson – Inspired recasting of ODB and Brit, so good Ronson has never come clsoe to getting out of its shadow – Grade: A+

3. Gimme More – Britney Spears – Off her best album, this is what "Scream & Shout" is echoing, somewhat dimly – Grade: A

4. Nikorette – Conor Oberst And The Mystic Valley Band – Best line: "Texting my friend about a bad bad dream" – Grade: A

5. Let's Get It on (Demo) – Marvin Gaye – He is still messing with the vocal, adding whoops, and pushing it just a little too hard – Grade: A-

6. Tears Always Win – Alicia Key – She steals the piano motif from "Exhale" but she she remains unassuming and the song has its own power and goes elsewhere – Grade: B+

7. Exhale (Shoop Shoop) – Whitney Houston – The real deal by the late great – Grade: A+

8. I'll Stand By You – Girls Aloud -No, actually, you won't – Grade: F

9. Drivin' Round – Wu Block – Keeper off the disappointing album – Grade: B+

10. Losing You – Solange – That synth effect is driving me mental but the song is pretty good – Grade: B+
