As promised, a closer look at the Rolling Stones setlist Sunday night in London. Remember the last time they toured the Stones were playing full albums for awhile? Well, this is a more careful set list. Except for the opening and closing brackets and the new songs, there are no big shockers here. But you'll get no complaints from me!
The first six are as written except for "I Wanna Be Your Man", and assumed, but # 7 is a pleasant left sided inclusion and "I'm Going Down" a shocker! The two newbies gotten out of the way relatively early, two songs off Some Girls… and from everything they released between 1980 and 2005? Two songs. Which means, I am right and Rolling Stone (the Magazine) are completely wrong in their assessment of the band. Incidentally, did anybody else read Keith Richards dismissing A Bigger Bang? The album Rolling Stone Magazine gave FIVE STARS.
Though there does appear ti be a lull between "I'm Going Down" and "Doom And Gloom", they right the ship with "It's Only Rock And Roll" and from "Miss You to "Jumping Jack Flash" reel off hit after hit. Seven in a row. Can't wait for the Barclay Center gig on December 8th!
