Taylor Swift covers Mumford and Sons, "White Blank Page"

Have you ever wanted to hate something but you simply couldn't?

Yeah.

Taylor Swift (gag) covered Mumford and Sons' "White Blank Page". Because M&S is sacred, I expected to be writing a bash post right now. However, honestly, I can't.

It is gorgeous. Typically, no females can properly cover this tune. And, any other time, I'd say I hate T Swift's music. Really, the reasoning is that I hate her lyrics so I never even gave her voice a chance. Hearing her on the radio and over stereo systems has led me to strongly disliking her as a whole. I think someone slipped something in her drink to improve her voice for this tune- I can't get enough of it! I'm a bit appalled at myself, to be honest.

I absolutely adore it. Her singing is so soft and clean. It's gentle, and is pretty much as perfect as anyone could ever get it for a cover of the song. I can't help but get choked up when I hear the original, and this one draws nearly the same emotions. The violin is perfectly placed, the banjo is ace, and her guitar skills have significantly improved. A couple times I was iffy about her voice, but overall, holistically, it's really nice. Now that it's on repeat for the fifth time, I think I have an issue- I truly enjoy it. She put her own spin on it, which is much appreciated. Sure, it lacks what Marcus' voice puts into it, but that's because this song is personal for him; she's simply doing a cover.

It's simple and elegant, and gives me a bit of faith for Swift and her personal music taste. It's beautiful and was a nice discovery. I was pleasantly surprised.
