Everything I’ve heard on the new She And Him album Vol 2 has been a bore. I liked Vol 1 a coupla years ago but the concert is disinteresting and now, as Jim Farber notes in today’s NewYork Daily News, they’ve given up charm for cuteness.
Now Zooey is a fine actress with plenty of charm to burn and M. Ward is the aural equivalent of toothpaste, but there was something endearingly eccentric to the duo and nothing of it has survived Vol 2.
In Farber’s memorable first sentence today: “There’s a fine line between charming and cute, and She & Him just stumbled across it big time,”
