Winner And Loser: Pete Seeger And Steve Tyler

Winner – Pete Seeger – Seeger isn't a winner because he is 93 years old and I am going to see him tonight at Carnegie Hall, he is a winner because he has spent those 93 years as a peak folk singer and keeper of American justice. If all he ever was write  "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" (with Joe Hickerson), "If I Had a Hammer (The Hammer Song)", (Lee Hays of The Weavers), and "Turn, Turn, Turn!", he would be a legend. Earlier this year he was involved with the Occupy Wall Street and it is wonderful the young rabble rouser is still around.

Loser – The Rolling Stones – They should have spun the overpriced tickets saga much more adeptly, even Bon Jovi had the smarts to leave some real cheap seats for the great unwashed. Obviously, when all you are playing is 5 gigs, tickets are gonna be at a premium but they didn't need the bad will of making even more money off the punters by giving their older fans, who might well be living on their pension today, no chance of being able to afford a ticket.
