Must See Concert: Arlo Guthrie And Pete Seeger On Saturday, November 24th, 2012

I have never heard of man as in touch with his feelings as Arlo Guthrie/ On October 16th, 2012 it was announced that Arlo's wife of 43 years, Jackie Guthrie, had died of cancer. Arlo released this tribute on his Facebook page: "There are loves, and there are LOVES. Ours was and will continue to be what it has always been – A very great love. We didn't always like each other. From time to time there were moments when we'd have our bags packed by the door. But, there was this great love that we shared from the moment we met – a recognition – It's YOU! And we would always return to it year after year, decade after decade and I believe life after lifetime." If anything is gonna sustain you it is that "lifetime after lifetime" belief.

Arlo rescheduled a couple of the dates and went back on the road and as he promised at Summerstage earlier this year he is playing a Thanksgiving concert with Pete Seeger at Carnegie Hall on Saturday November 24th, 2012 at 8pm. I went several years in the 1990s and it is as wonderful as you think it will be!

Tickets are still available and it as close to a must see as you will ever hear of. Seeger is 93 years old so who knows how many more of these he will be able to perform (actually, who knows how he is managing to perform this one) and Arlo, Arlo is always a blast live and between the two of them, who can deny it is a show to beat?

Plus both men will have their families around them.

And what better way to tribute Jackie Guthrie than to have her by your side in spirit.
