Back in the 1990s, I took in a Spice Girl show at Madison Square Garden and can't say I was all that thrilled. On the hand, I can't say I was the target audience. And "Spice World", the movie, an attempt to out Hard Day's Night Hard Day's Night, was fun in a self aware sort of way. Well, 20 years later and my feelings for Spice Girls hasn't changed much.
I am not claiming if I was A 30 something, I might not feel a tug at girl power and how they've all grown up and grown away and she managed to come back for one last group hug. BUT, wasn't this their second group hug? Wasn't there one in the 00s that died on the vine due to mass indifference.
And how are the solo careers going for you guys, might I inquire? I mean, if you aren't marrying famous footballers…?
Well, the Spice Girls didn't end so well the first time around (mostly after "Wannabe" they stopped selling but…), but the acrimony no longer exists per Sporty Spice Melanie C who recently claimed: "We've all gone on to have happy, successful lives, we've had our bumps along the way, and of course there's friction at times, because all of us are strong, independent women with opinions.
