1. Back To Living Again – Curtis Mayfield – One of Mayfield's moments arrived from a world of pain near the end of his life, not just impossibly beautiful but Curtis was paralyzed from the neck down when he recorded this triumph. Hell, Aretha is just the cream on top. At the Grammy's that year, Clapton said Mayfield should've have received it for best album. Next year he was gone – Grade: A+
2. Express Yourself – Madonna – You heard her, jump to it – Grade: B+
3 .Briefest Moment – Bob Mould – As melodic a pop a Sugar ever was, the album sounds major as well – Grade: A-
4. Toot N Toot N Toot – Curtis Mayfield – An ode to 80s hard drugs, sounds shallow and swinging, with a superb big ol' hook- Grade: A
5. Two Sleepy People – Art Garfunkel – The Bob Hope chestnut, is given a sweet, soft cover. A truly delicate yet tough instrument, that voice of Art – Grade: A-
6. Manhattan – Cat Power – Great positive noise with a kicker to live by: "don't look at the moon tonight, you'll never be never be never be Manhattan" – Grade: A
7.Me Without You – Toby Mac – Cute enough crossover popsicle – Grade: B-
8. Everybody Talks – Neon Trees – I've been talking this Utah band up up up since I saw em at Hammerstein a coupla years, and this one has broken up. Opens with a throwaway Beatles cop and then keeps on hooking you till the end – Grade: A-
9. Hammer Dance – Slaughterhouse – Vicious shot gun daydream – Grade: A
10.I'm So Tired – Tomas Doncker – Lovely acoustic strummer by the great funk guitarist – Grade: A-
