Vastly superior to the drear Giants, who soon after No Doubt's thrilling performance of their new single "Settle Down" got torched for three touchdowns.
have been pretty much an agnostic when it comes to No Doubt. From Tragic Kingdom on, they were neither here nor there, maybe a touch too poppy. I've yet to see them live. The one tine I had tix to catch em at Roseland, Nusrat Ali Khan was playing Radio City and I blew No Doubt off.
But back in Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl" days, a friend convinced me to check Gwen out at MSG and I began to turn around on the band. Then that American Idol guy covered "Bathwater" and the trend to fan boy was completed.
Of course, it was too late by then and some 8 years after their last release here are No Doubt on the Count down to the Kickoff of the NFL season completely killing it. The entire band is running at full throttle through the terrific new single "Settle Down". The song didn't seem to get much traction on the charts, mostly because the first minute, a sort of Middle Eastern flavored hoosegow, had no place on the single.
On stage, Gwen looks ridiculous. Just crazy hot with a stomach you can bounce dimes off, and the band is money: tight as hell. I can't wait for the album or the tour! I hope they play "Bathwater"
