Enter The Shikari by Helen Bach

Enter Shikari is a UK sensation that I was not familiar with but I was tipped off by our pals at Earshot Media that they had been added to their impressive roster.

So as I ask around I find that not only has the Magpie heard of them but shes a fan.

Rather than ask her opinion I venture to their myspace myself.

I wont look. I have an absurd love of British boys, so its best I not go all shallow.

Expecting pop punk fun imagine my surprise at what I heard.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have British screamers.

The song ‘Thumper’ is a techno throat ripping confusing shake. They seem mad, but there is a fantastic crowd able sing along midway. I like it its almost theatrical in its presentation.

I wonder actually if the lead singer has theatrical training. Just the force of voice leads me to believe that this projection isn’t born of a garage in St Albans UK.

“Solidarity”, starts off as a twitter good time with some power stance guitar action, the twitter running in the background adds a near Star Wars quality to this.

How to describe? I cant.

Technoscreamotheatercore?

But they do have that guttural growl that I absolutely adore. Sexy as hell.

This is unique to say the least, amongst the genre. I’m excited to see how Earshot will guide these guys.

They don’t fit in a slot, they’re going to appeal to a rather diverse group.

Should I look? Of course!

Woooo nice.

Enter Shikari…..not Shakira

Awesome find.
