Why is Bowie so dead against recording any more?
Gabriel had the idea of Gabriel recording an album of cover songs and then the musicians he covered covering one of Gabriel’s songs. A pleasant enough concept though Peter’s album, Scratch My Back. is a bit of a bore.
So far Thom Yorke and David Bowie have reneged on the deal.Yorke’s a fool but Bowie?? I see no reason why Bowie wouldn’t go into the studio for a coupla days max… also, Bowie hasn’t released any new material since his heart attack and it would be a painless way to test the waters but apparently Bowie has turned him down and Eno -who co-wrote the covered song “Heroes” – has stepped into the void.
