I was speaking at one of the managers at Feinstein's Friday night and was told two pieces of exciting news…1. Michael is thisclose to signing a lease for a new premises to house the popular supper club. Lowe's is closing in January for repairs and Feinstein's won't be back. That's official. But here is news that Michael is beyond the looking around and at the point of signing for new quarters!
2. The final show at Feinstein's this New Year's Eve, will be the namesake himself. I was thinking of going but I am such a loner and I can't think of anything more depressing than sitting alone at a table. Seats are still available though management assumes they will be gone by the end of October at the latest.
And,
3. I read in the NYT, Michael has taken over as conductor from the late Marvin Hamlisch at the Pasadena Pops. Just last month, Michael was singing with them! A lot of hard work no doubt, and I wonder if it will effect his search for a new room!!!
