A coupla days after I raved over Dave Grohl’s performance at Reading I stumbled across this story at New York Post.
Kristine Burton is the overseer of MSG’s “Gardens Of Dreams Foundations” where they make dreams come true for ill or in need children.
This is Kristine’s story of her fave dream provided as told to the Post’s Michael Kane:
“Three years ago, we met a 17-year-old named Josh, who had leukemia. The Foo Fighters were playing at the Garden, and it was Josh’s dream to meet the band. While they were talking, Josh mentioned to Dave Grohl that he played the drums and had memorized their song “Long Road to Ruin.” Dave said, “OK, you’re going to play with us.” Josh thought he meant at sound check. But instead, during the actual concert, Dave brought him up onstage and told the crowd, “I want to introduce you to my friend Josh.” He didn’t say anything about leukemia, or anything. Josh sat down at the drums and kicked it. My staff was all crying.”
Foo Fighters still suck but.
