Really, I do mean really, who but a complete plank would choose 2 Chainz over Lupe Fiasco? And while that isn't the precise choice you had yesterday, it is close to it. The new 2 Chainz album dropped at the same time as the third single off Lupe's upcoming fourth album, and Lupe wins the fight.
Lupe sounds so much like Kanye with a conscious on "Lamborghini Angels", it is like he took PE's "Catch The Throne" seriously and wrote it for them himself. Lupe doesn't get much poppier than this.
RHCP's "Strange Man" might be an outtake from I'm With You, but if it is, they kept a killer in their backpocket. This is all Flea, he holds the songs hook in the palm of his hand and I couldn't be happier. Rita Ora's first release is proof that if nothing else, Jigga knows from great female pop stars. Rihanna, Nicki and now this English r&b star. Tinie Tempah provides the rap, and is it me, but doesn't he sound more and more Amwrican with every passing day. I mean, Wiley he aint.
Finally, yes, I will be driving you crazy over this one, the new Taylor is brilliant and I am hoping she is going poppier on Red than she was on Speak Now. The comparison with Avril Lavigne is OK but it misses the obvious. Avril couldn't write this well (as an RS writer wrote about STP once) with a blueprint. She is simply the best.
