First Must See Concert Of 2013: Renee Fleming!!

Oh No! The first must see concert(s) of 2013 and it isn't even September. But whenever the great American Soprano deems to sing, somebody from rock nyc is bound to be in the audience cheering wildly. As part of the Perspective Series, Fleming will be performing in January, March, April and May 4th.

This is what it says on the Carnegie Hall website: "In January, she presents a joint recital with friend and frequent co-star, mezzo-soprano Susan Graham. She goes on to sing the iconic role of Blanche Dubois—written for her by André Previn—in a semi-staged performance of his setting of A Streetcar Named Desire. In April, she serves as muse to another composer when she premieres a new work by Anders Hillborg in a special concert with the New York Philharmonic under Alan Gilbert"

I am going to either the April or the May concert. I think maybe the May 4th (a Saturday concert), which is the performing of a new work, so you gotta think. The April 26th show is a Friday, so I could definitely live with that. Plus the new York Philharmonic, which you gotta consider an added plus. January is a Sunday, and I don't like Streetcar…
