Listen Up 7-11-12

1. Amen – Meek Mill – Featuring Drake, he is really quite lively here, but, note the caveat emptor: Maybach Music. This is kinda funny, sexy braggart, and the sample is excellent (a little piano motif). SO while minor, minor is an improvement with this posse – Grade: B

2.  Chemical World – Blur – It is time to admit it: Modern Life Is Rubbish was their best album – Grade: A+

3. On A Clear Day You Can See Forever – Barbra Streisand – She saved the movie from Yves Montand – Grade: B+

4.  Mr. Harris – Aimee Mann – A classic May-September song. I swear she can't do this any more – Grade: A

5. Boyfriend – Justin Bieber – This song is so great, it singlehandledly saves his latest – Grade: A

6. Master Of The House – Les Miserables – Forever remembered… for the Seinfeld episode where the song passes from one person to another like a yawn – Grade: B+

7. Tezeta – Mahmoud Ahmed – Smooth jazz Ethiopian style – Grade: A

8. A Certain "je ne sais quoi" – Pet Shop Boys – As 80s dance as PSB get nowadays, all drum machines and synths – Grade: A

9. Future Rock – Outernationals – Garage not punk rock – Grade:B+

10. (I Can't Get No Satisfaction) – Cat Power – The most depressed version of "Satisfaction"… ever – Grade: B+
