3. Tell Me Why – The Beatles – Beatle John jealous and heartbroken – Grade: A+

4. For A Dancer – Jackson Browne – Written for his friend Scotty Runyon, a perfect heartbroken requiem that now works as a meditation on mortality – Grade: A

5. Ghost World – Aimee Mann – The best part is where everybody is acting weird or way to cool, or maybe when she jumps off the dock and watches the summer fade away. The best song Brian Wilson never wrote, Bethany Costanino should takes notes  – Grade: A+

6. A Commotion – Mastadon – This is a terrific song, as hard as nail with an undercurrent of artiness – Grade: A

7. End Of Line (Boys Noize Remix) – Daft Punk – Sure everything to do with Tron was a disaster… except this – Grade: B+

8. Attica Black – Blackalicious – Sounds like Miles Davis circa Bitches Brew plus rap band – Grade: A

9. Something He Can Fel – Aretha Franklin – All those folks remaking "Sparkle" should play this and feel ashamed of themselves – Grade: A

10. Sparkle – Aretha Franklin – Or this, a song so great they didn't even bother trying to cover it – Grade: A+
