With under a month to go, “Rewind The 80s Music Festival” which takes place at Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames from August 17 – 19th, has sold out for the second year running.
40,000 people will revel in two days’ worth of iconic 80s music performed by a staggering line-up comprising The Bangles, OMD, Adam Ant, Sinitta, Grandmaster Flash, Rick Astley, Soul II Soul, Tony Hadley, Five Star, Marc Almond, T’Pau, Wang Chung, Roland Gift, Right Said Fred, Jimmy Somerville, Starship, The Straits, Midge Ure, John Parr and many more.
Says David Heartfield, the Rewind Festival promoter, “Rewind is now in its fourth year at Henley-on-Thames, and continues to become more popular year on year. We’re very excited about this year’s line-up which promises to be the best ever.”
Above you will find the line-up for the 4th annual 80s rewind Fest in the UK… And it looks pretty alright by me. Adam Ant is always worth a viewing and the bangles… will that include Susanna Hoffs? Isn't she somewhere plugging her solo album. I am happy to note Rick is still alive -the Conor maynard of the 1980s, no doubt. Plus, fully recovered from Nick Lowe's devastating smack down!!!
I didn't much care for the 1980s myself, always considered them the black hole of rock and roll, which only recovered in the 1990s (rock is really a mess right now, while "rap" and "disco" thrive). But OMD were a great band, so were Soft cell, so were Right Said… no, wait, I think I'll retract the last comment.
If it was in BB King's insread of field somewhere in the UK, I would definitely go!!
