Warped Tour Heroes Taking Back Sunday Revisted

Every year, I’m excited for Warped Tour.  This year, the lineup is the best it’s everbeen.  I want to see at least 50% of the bands, which is a first for me.  However, the band I want to see the most is Taking Back Sunday.

I remember the first real album I ever bought and really listened to was "Louder Now".  I remember putting it into my walkman and turning the volume up immediately.  The opening track, “What’s It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?” was  the first tune that really struck me.  I listened to the record all the way through, and upon doing so for the fourth or fifth time, it was the one I turned up the loudest. Lazzara’s voice is so addictive in a way that no other artist can do.  Musically, it’s flawless and a ridiculous demonstration of their immense talent.

The one tune that’s been a part of me for years is “Make DamnSure”.  The first time I heard it whilst on my own, I was brought to tears.  I don’t quite remember why, but it was the first time I really experienced the true power of music and what it can do to your emotions. After the song was finished, I wiped my tears and smiled.  It changed my life forever and made me fallin love with music.

“Divine Intervention” still makes me cry to this day.  It’s a gorgeous song that has beautiful lyrics and is the best song on the album.  The perfect balance between the words and the gentle music makes it stand out and create a permanent impression on me.  I remember thinking how perfect the song was and wondering if this is what all music was like.

I’ve only seen TBS live once before, and I definitely didn’t get the full experience because I missed part of their set.  I’m not missing a single song this year.  I already know that their live performance will be incredible; I couldn’t be more excited.

Nostalgia.
