(and this will do it- The Moms have dragged us zig zag across the East and up the middle. Still doing gigs still moving forward. I cant wait to to see them follow them on Facebook for more anitcs! -hb)
Day 23 –
This place absolutely fucking sucked. Another hookah bar barely standing in the middle of no where . I won't mention the name but I can't help continuing to bitch. I think a family of stray cats are rolling around the fucking place 24/7 and the owners prefer that the cats piss inside and play outside. Nothing worse than cat and cigarette smelling carpet.
Then there's the whole we were not welcome at all or like anyone there. Folk dudes that take folk seriously and the fucking . Forget it . Fucking forget it. You're 0 for 1 Illonois. – Chicago tomorrow.
So I'm not the only voice that gets hear, – Jon describe tonight in three words –
"Let's fucking go."
Day 24-
Chicago Illinois – hey did they film Ferris Bueler here? Very awesome city however incredibly stressful when your a large rig like us. Parking is a joke. I can't stress it enough – I hate anyplace without parking and any place expensive I'm fucking crazy for despising cities right? I live a half hour from NYC and refuse, I mean REFUSE to go there. Not sure if its the 20 dollar train ride or the always awful and always regrettable choice of driving in. I don't know guys, not a city guy. I like front lawns, back yards, hell even side lawns! The ability to breath and my favorite – walking around outside bear foot .
I have learned in the years of touring to appreciate a good city and Chicago was definitely a good one.
The show was awesome for a monday night! Three awesome bands three awesome crowds that became one through the night. The place is called Township and I highly recommend you check it out.
But yea cities make me nervous – Jon had the good fortune of driving and let's just say – we left the hotel at one and parked by five.
Keep it locked.

Day 25 –
We here at The Moms are really good at making bad decisions like –
Let's drive through the night, well get to Ann Arbor by six a.m. And our friend Vishal will be awake to let us in his house! We will sleep all day!
Great idea –
Let me paint the picture –
Its late, three a.m. Late. Tour manager Scooter is driving which means our off roader has turned into a boat – it's all over the place. Its cold outside, but hot in the van? Make sense? Nope. We seem to be stopping every half hour so he can pee.
Fast forward through nonsense. We get to the house. – there is no where to park there either. Were fucking fried. Totting around finally find a spot. Its bright out at this point. We grab our sleeping gear and the four of us walk the half mile from where we parked in our pjs with our sleeping bags and our suitcases not saying a word to each other. Bust in the house. And I quote – "yea you guys came a day late, the a.c. Crapped out yesterday."
Let that settle
Still settling.
Yurp.
So much for sleeping all day!
Disclaimer – (do not in any way take this story as me being un-appreciative . Vish if you are reading thanks a milion times the couch was plenty comfy and I'm sorry your a.c. Is out)
The point is me and Joe had a different plan for the evening and let's just say the two girls will never admit when they're wrong.
Cheers .
Oh fuck almost forgot. Were playing the Blind Pig right now and uh . Nirvana played here some billion years ago. Cool
Uh. Yea to any local bands out there, don't ask the fucking national to switch with you so you don't have to play last. The promoter put us in the middle of the show for a reason.
Ps where are you're friends that you ! AND I QUOTE ! Told you were playing third.
(If you don't get it yet, there's no time attached to "third" )
I'm out
Day 26 – Canton Ohio
Ladies and gentlemen Canton Ohio takes the cake! Congrats and give it up for yourselves. We are over at BuzzBin downtown.
Mike you are a life saver!
Mike is the gent that runs this sweet spot and the locals have all been saying how Mike has been playing your cd non stop and telling everyone about you guys. He has been promoting the video and set up a facebook page for the event. He seems to be the only promoter in the country, promoting!
People knew the songs off the record people have seen the video and people have been waiting for this show since the day it got booked.
Kudos Mike thanks for a great almost last night. – that's right kids
Were going home tonight!
Month long tours aren't cake to book therefore we have off a few days and were close enough to home to drop in. Two studio days – I am proud to announce we are beginning to write and record our next record! (Golf clap) We are booking our tour for October (can't stop this party)
And !!!
We are proud to say – Viva! – The Moms ep will be available on vinyl in a short amount of time courtesy of Panic State Records!!!
Day 27 – shit can never be easy
So we had a great night in Canton and were all stoked to go home. I take the driving by the balls and after a few hrs of getting settled begin to think I might just drive us all the way. I wasn't too tired and I wasn't bored. Everyone was asleep and it was me and the open road. Six am.
Check engine light pops on. Van temp pins itself then starts spinning in circles like a bad cartoon. Try throwing on the heat. Bam. There's the smoke
Shot
I always say never expect to tour without getting pulled over once and breaking down once. And I guess I ruined it for everyone cause up until six a.m. This morning, we were looking pretty good. (Had been driving since midnight)
So. Get the tow to the garage. Wait forty minutes forthe garage to open. Apparently our thermostat door was bent? I'm not a car dude but the weirdest shit happens to our van. Dude like the time all the electric melted.
What? Like. . What?
Anyway. Its rainy and cold back home! Gonna kick up my feet and rest up. Put in some hours at work tomorrow and prepare for the studio.
Day 28 –
Today was a strange day of recovery, couldn't decide if I wanted to sleep, couldn't decide if I wanted to stay awake. So I sat on the couch in a coma and drove around my hometown a few times.
We did recently find out we will be playing a hometown show on the 4th with Big D and the Kids Table at The Stanhope house in Stanhope nj. This show is going to be huge! Make sure if you are in the area you are there?
Day 29 –
I slept until about two p.m. And just chilled catching up on some tour paperwork and caught up on emails. It is really hard to know what's really going on when you are working with a blackberry from the road. People like to bitch all oh punk rock this technology that. Fuck those people . We need tools to work with. And the blackberry is the #2 leader. You're either using berry or an apple.
That middle ground shit is a joke.
Anyway. Went back to work today at the pizza shop and it was cool to see the rest of the staff again. Works plenty stressful but its a slew of friends and when the only thing you've seen in four weeks is rolling grass and windows, you'd be stoked to see a familiar rock.
Thank you to everyone reading and/or still reading at this point
And thank you to everyone who came out to see us on the tour! Continue to buy the record, tell your friends about us and check out the dates!
Couple dates in the north east next week so make sure you come check it out.
Day 30-
Worked a double at the ol pizza slingin shop. Actually had a banging day. Lot of catering. I made a record high in tips to day. Its crazy how things always seem to work out in the end no matter how fucked you are or how hard you try to prepare for it. I already overdrew my account and humanity threw me a bone here to get me back on my feet.
My folks rented a shore house for the next two weeks cause that's what jersey does, so I'm gonna head down there for my moms birthday tomorrow! Haha happy birthday mom!
I think she's 21 now or something 😉
