Music Hall Of Williamsburg, New York's Best Rock Club

As an inveterate concertgoer, I have precisely one problem with the Music Hall Of Williamsburg: it is too far away. MSG is a two minute walk from me, Webster Hall five minutes on the subway, T5 -well, T5 is too far West so there is no subways by it, but Beacon, Radio City,  is a hop skip and a jump and so is all the Ludlow Street rooms.

But you have to change boroughs for MHOW and that's 45 minutes at least from my home in Queens.

But that is all that is wrong  with the club. Going to see Dirty Projectors earlier this week, I have no doubt MHOW added greatly to the pleasurable experience.

The staff are wonderful, the basement bar area is fabulous, the drinks strong and most important: I don't see how you can not have a good side line. Arrive, not early, but just on time and head straight to one of the tiers on either side of the stage and you can see close and perfectly all the way through. Arrive as the band is going on, stand at the back of the floor, and you can still see OK!

It is an amazing, clockwork, pleasurable experienced. Owned by Bowery Presents, who also own T5, I don't understand how one company can get one room perfectly correct and the other a disastrous mess.

If a band was playing at Bowery Ballroom and at NHOW, and if getting up for work wasn't a factor, I would choose MHOW even with the commute. Highly recommended for your next concert going experience.
