1. Boredom – The Buzzcocks – This was not simply Devoto's band in 1977. Surem he was behind "ba dum ba dum" but Shelley owned that guitar riff and air lifted it to their first solo album. Grade: A+2. Remember My Name – Chris Brown – # 1 in the UK, and makes mince meat of Spins asinine comments about the man – Grade: B+
3. On And Ever Onward – DP And Bjork – These guys should hook up again – Grade: A
4. Dreadlock Holiday – 10CC – A distance, manybe not that distant, relation to "Haitian Divorce" – Grade: B+
5. On The Corner Unedited – Miles Davis – 20 minutes and revaltory, much much more accesible than the version released. Grade: A
6. Barrier Reef – Old 97's – Could be their best song, certainly their besr song of the period. A story of a drunken train wreck one night stand: "She said I'm already dead and that's exactly what she said". Grade: A+
7. Ruin – Cat Power – First rate pop song ina league with Fiona, who she reminds me of – Grade: A
8. Sleep to Dream – Fiona Apple – Her devastated put down – Grade: A+
9. Generals – The Mynabirds – The live performance didn't make me like it more… didn't make me like it less either – Grade: A
10. Oh Susannah – Neil Young – Children's true love nursery rhyme as protest song – Grade: A-
