In an interview on Spinner picked up by contactmuic (everybody happy now?), Uber-producer Tony Visconti revealed how Marc Bolan played for David Bowie and was to join Bowie’s band in the late sixties but Bolan’s wife disliked Bowie’s well documentated arrogance and after Bolan played snapped at Bowie “He’s too good for you” and dragged Bolan out.
The rest is history.
