Motion City Soundtrack released a music video for their song "True Romance". I love their videos because they're always so creative; you never quite know what to expect, which makes it interesting. The new tune is so great, with a totally fitting visual aid.
The song is ridiculously fabulous. It reminds me a bit of some of their older stuff, but it also hints at their maturity and growth since their last record, Even If It Kills Me. It holds on to their familiar sound that I know and adore, however there is a sense of newness and fresh rawness that made me absolutely fall in love with it. I can tell that their hearts are in it, which makes me happy because they're totally back.
I loved the video. A lot of it was filmed and then played backward, adding an element of fun, expected surprise to it. The twist at the end is wicked clever, and the whole vid in its entirety is an idea I haven't seen explored before. I can't get enough of the backwards shots because it's fascinating and keeps it interesting.
Motion City Soundtrack is back and better than ever.
