It is three years since we Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed, and two less than great and an iffy live show later, I am ready to use those fingers for crossing and catch the formerly(?), currently(?) great Welsh rock band one more time, at Le Poisson Rouge on Friday. Then rushing further down town to see the Mynabirds late show at Mercury Lounge
Monday – Now, Now – Mercury Lounge – If you got to fun. late this weekend, hustle thee downtown to catch this excellent three piece indie pop band (who opened for them) at a somewhat smaller veue.
Tuesday – Ani DiFranco – Bowery Ballroom – Fuck her… and her untouchable face.
Wednesday – Bonnie Raitt – Beacon Theater – Pretty good independly released album to push will give us something to talk about in a great acoustic room.
Thursday – The Fleshtones – Bowery Electric – An incredible line up, with Steve Wynn and Ivan Krall opening and the great garage band bringing it home
.Saturday – James Taylor – Prudential Center – Last seen serenading Taylor Swift, the great man is always good on stage.
Sunday – Governor's Ball – Beck might not be enough… Beck and Fiona Apple? That's enough…
