Bikini Killers

The head of the riot grrrl movement of the nineties was Bikini Kill’s Kathleen Hanna and Bikini Kill’s shining ode to lesbian love with a bad chick “Rebel Girl” though just about everything on Pussy Whipped. The follow up left me a little indifferent.
Still I was fascinated to see an interview with Kathleen on the Guardian’s art pages streaming from Grit-TV a feminist blog.
Kathleen discusses the violence and negativity that followed Bikini Kill as an out punk rock band and also the emerging Queerzine movement and young lesbian feminist moviemakers.
