For Science Forever

I can’t express my love for this band loudly enough. If you think it is easy to write loud fast punk rock songs you are wrong, it is hard. For Science is part of the New Brunswick scene (been together for five years -proof again that it takes awhile to get it right) or maybe not. I don’t think I can recommend their 2006 Revenge For Hire highly enough. Wait, maybe I can, “Nothing Constant” coulda been written by Buddy Holly. “Maybe we will meet again and I’ll be over you by then because nothing’s really constant after all” could come from a Holly song -it is so great I wouldn’t know the difference.
If I had made an album as GREAT, like, mind bogglingly brilliant, as Revenge and the world hadn’t fallen to its feet in awe I’d be very pised -I swear. I got  Revenge for free after buying a Screaming Females tee and the Groucho Marxist album. I Can’t believe a song as wonderful as “Fenway Lights” doesn’t have a billion fans.
Even better is their latest, 2008’s  Tomorrow Is Just Another Day, whose “Headache” is the perfection of existential teenage angst. An album so great Pete Shelly woulda been happy to write it. It kills. Everysingle track is a masterpiece. Who the fuck are these guys?
On their myspcae info is (as always on bands myspace -here’s a tip: be clear who you are) a little specious but here’s a straight quote:
Hi. For Science (originally Skynet) formed in 2005 when my friend John Slover and I decided we wanted to make a band. Since then we’ve released two full-length albums, an EP, and gone through a few lineup changes. Thats it, bye.

Joe Steinhardt, 2008
Geez -about as loud fast as their songs.
