Half asleep I completely missed the release of Gudda Gudda’s Guddaville on Itunes till today while writing the Cash Money post.I love it ofcourse, I had heard a lot of it on mixes… it is both dark beats and hard beats at the same times but there is a sense of pop that floats on up.
After two listens? It’d make my top list of last year.
The back tracks are superb, the rapping… missing a step… I mean how many times do we need to be taught that real niggers do real things. I got it.
Still, there is a discovery on this album that can’t be flashed solely as arrogance. The sample on the above song needs no excuse from me (unfortunatelyI don’t know where it comes from, the song is “2 Blessed To Be Stressed”)
Too early to be final about it but the last three rappers I called out were Freddie Gibbs, Gucci Mane and Kid Cudi so ignore me at your peril!!
I’ll give the album another shot at some point, till then get used to references in play lists and hot tracks.
