1. If I Was A Bell- Emily Loesser – Yup, Jean Simmons was lipsynching on the movie version of "Guys And Dolls"… as she should have bee. Emily Loesser,Fran's kid, did a stellar job, especially on this sexual awakeening masterpiece – Grade: A

2. Why I Pray – Big & Rich – I have no problems with nostalgia but at what point does rubbish like "don't you dare pledge allegiance, don't you dare speak of God" stop being opinion and start being fantasy? If the song was any good it wouldn't matter, but it is an overblown piece of country rock claptrap. Gram Parsons DID NOT die for this… the egotistical blowhards – Grade: D+

3.Malea – Darlingside – The thing with having a lead singer bass is the drummer has to work twice as hard – Grade: B+

4. A More Perfect Union – Titus Andronicus – When people whinge about rock and roll in the 21st Century, I point them here and if that doesn't convince em that rock is alive and well, they don't have the slightest clue about rock and roll – Grade: A+

5.Tougher Colder Killer – El P (feat Killer Mike), Despot) – This is as vicious a slice of gangsta as I've heard, the level of angst and horror is upped thru the roof – Grade: A-

6. Big Girls Don't Cry – The Four Seasons – That falsetto will get you every time – Grade: A+

7. Back In Black – Pitbull – The movie was good, the rap is good, the sample doesn't quite work – Grade: B+

8. SHut Up, Man – Das Racist – The cop car siren is just one readon to listen up – Grade: B+

9. David Johansen's Soul – Against Me – Makes a bit more sense now, right? Grade: A-

10. I Need Lunch – Dead Boys – Condemned as misogyny then, condemnable as misogyny now, but it is no more misogynist than Adele is misandrist – Grade: A
