Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators "Apocalyptic Love"

Johnny Depp isn’t Keith Richards’ son.  Slash is.   Both are hard to look at and less to fathom.  Both have skull rings, the dangling smoking cigarette from the lips, play rock guitar for seminal self-destructive bands that all puritan parents feared and they have no business being alive today.  No business at all.  Hendrix, Janis and Jim are saying how the fuck? But hey, like father like son they say….

If  you loved GNR and Velvet Revolver than this disc is for you.  That Slash survived playing with both Axl and Scott, who aren’t great role models for the world but are awesome for rock fans, is a testament to his DNA.  Henritta Lacks legendary.  His last product was a bunch of duets with such diverse players as Ozzy to Fergie, Lemmy to Adam Levine, Nicole Scherzinger to Andrew Stockdale and Myles Kennedy, who sings on this album throughout.

Slash is a limited rock guitarist with that said he is a ROCK guitar God for few have his skill at writing the perfect hook and groove.  Myles Kennedy’s  voice wails as much as Slash rips each song tearing your rock soul and ears to shreds. This is heavy, loud and makes no apologies product…. This is a tight road warrior band with Brent Fitz on drums and Todd Kerns on bass.

Apocalyptic Love” with drum stick timing beat then erupts into a perfect GNR song, but then you hear Myles not Axl.  “One Last Time” starts out like a Ramones/Sex Pistol mash up.  Is that Johnny Rotten?  No not enough piss in his voice.    This is a Slash record.  Period.

This is a balls to the wall ROCK disc.  A testosterone tsunami musical wet dream. Hey why not?  ROCK is about sex and this is all about ROCK as sex.  Maroon 5 this ain’t.  Is this a step forward musically… No…  A step forward for Slash musically? No.  Does it have to be?  HELL no! This DISC hits hard like a barn door during a cat 5 hurricane. No apologies.  Its honest, its real, its rock.  Devil horns in the air kinda rock. Alt rockers or  emo rock need not apply here.
