Silversun Pickups have been around since 2005 and so I guess no one really considers them overnight successes. But are they really successes at all?

While it it is a bit redundant to pick on SP, they are not much better or worse than the majority, truly they define a band that is a question of taste, they just happened to catch my eye.

SP are reach the Billboard Album top ten albums next week (we will have it Friday as always), with a paltry 40,000 units shifted and, yes, the question remains, are the charts a joke? And are they easy to fix.

I don't think it is even illegal. I mean, maybe it is chart fixing I guess…

It takes me back to my idea of promoting an Elliott Smith song into a top ten hit for next Christmas -the numbers are so miniscule, it seems doable by anybody a little bigger than us…

And what it proves us had easily it is becoming to mold tastes…
