1. Hey, Cruel World – Marilyn Manson – So in all these years, what new tricks has MM learnt? Delayed gratification is its own reward and the sizzling ooos and 11111s enhanced intro is the modern equivalent of an acoustic intro to a hard rocker. And then it is a hard rocker – Grade: B+
2. Say Goodbye – Norah Jones – She is much less irritating when she has a good song – Grade: B+
3. Run Of The Mill (Demo) – George Harrison – Speeded up and without Spector's mucker production, this tale of a break up through the prism of life has, if anything, gained with time – Grade: A
4. That's Alright Man/Blue Moon Over Kentucky/Night Train To Memphis – Carl Perkins – Perkins tribs Presley and Harrison's solo on "That's Alright, Mama" is a rockabilly pleasure.- Grade:A-
5. Daughters – Nas -This uses an excellent sample and Nas is a superb rapper… a touch old fashioned – Grade: B+
6. Days Gone By – The Offspring – Channel their inner Byrds – Grade: B=
7. Rico Medo – Elvis Crespo – The alto sax is the give away that Elvis is pitching high, there is an implied disco to his Meringue here- Grade: B+
8. Rashida – Rufus Wainwright – Third track, third pleasant enough for stroke – Grade: B+
9. Tell Me No – Screaming Females – Speaking of delayed gratification, with its Middle Eastern flavored break and downbeat modulations, this is a breather that explodes between inhalations – Grade: A
10. Lay You Down – Mazzy Star – A 2011 single that got away from me – Grade: A-
