This is a pix from 2010's TM benefit gig produced by director David Lynch.
It is a picture of the Beatles, yes it is.
And right now nobody else needs to be added or subtracted from this picture. They both look old, Macca looks like a waxwork and Starr looks haggard. But, sing "With A Little help from My Friends" , this is the historic group as complete as possible in 2012.
What would it help to stick on a Ouija board or a hologram, what can we do with the passing of time. I'm suggesting we go quietly in to that night, what I'm suggesting is that there are limited choices available when people die.
When people die we honor their absence by accepting their absence, it can't be filled by anything but memories and the reality of passage is in the passing away. By using holograms, by denying the self-evident, we perpetuate a sort of mindless pain. It is anti ethical, anti-social. A form of incest s it closes off the world instead of filling the vacuum.
This is alive, but forlorn, old but with a certain degree of grace. It is like a candle in a window bringing the faithful back home.
