Hannah Georgas At Webster Hall, Saturday, April 27th, 2012 Reviewed

Later that night, Hannah Gorgeous would be singing back up for Kathleen but to start she, along with guitarist/multi-instrumentalist/programmer/boyfriend(? There are pix on their website) , lead us for a pleasantly under whelming half hour of not quite there singer songwriter shuffles.

Hannah has a disarming stage presence and is a pleasant fellow traveler though she could certainly move a little more, and is not adverse to throwing in the "f Bomb" as she compares Webster Hall to Pianos and the Living Room, and sometimes programs her drum machine to add some thud to her persona. Hannah also has an excellent voice that breezes easily into an upper register as clear as a bell, and has a clear command of the stage.

BUT, her songs can be ordinary and her sense of melody needs tweaking. The constructions are samey and the set badly needs a change of pace, or a different voice. While Hannah builds a steady momentum through the songs, they just lead back on themselves except…

"Chit Chat" off her 2010 album is a good song and she does it proud and the penultimate song with a refrain that goes "take a deep breath and don't it it bring you down" is a joyous noise with Hannah on Ukulele.

Look, it is tough opening for better who don't know your songs, especially when songs are your thing.
