As we speak, there is an unreleased duet by Cobain with Love on an unheard song "Stinking Of You". It is obviously not yet ready for its close up but from its lame pun onwards its Cobain 101.
Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson has claimed there is enough material in the can for a Kurt solo album. according to a new documentary: "''He was headed in a direction that was really cool. He was going towards, a solo album but working with different people.''I was really excited about some of the stuff he was working on. I got to see him play it in front of me. That's why I was really sad when he died. He was cut short. Who knows where this music would have gone?''

But I don't quite believe it. Who would have sat on these tapes for nearly 20 years before announcing they have them. Love wouldn't, that's for sure. Why would Eric? I don't know whether the world has the right to hear them at all, but nature abhors a vacuum and if the tapes of a Cobain solo album were out there, where the fuck are they?
I am really sick of writing about the man.
Biggie and Cibain were the two greatest artists of the 1990s, the way Costello and Prince were the two greatest artists of the 1980s. But both stories just came to a complete full stop . They ended suddenly violently and completely. And everything we write now is gossip and scandal, moldy tapes, lost dreams. It is disheartening and boring.
Kurt hated us enough to bow out, Biggie was such a schmuck he couldn't stop himself from being murdered. And both stories chase their own tale round and round going nowhere. I don't wanna write about it. I don't wanna post the tape. I don't wanna deal with this bullshit.
How is using back up musicians anything like the White Album by the way? And not one of these guest artists has said a word. Why wouldn't they? Why would it be a secret??
If there is a Cobain solo album I will write the sucker into the ground, until then shut up about Cobain and let him do what he so badly wanted to do. So badly he left Francis to her Godforsaken Mom, who at least lived through it for her. Be left alone. It is the least he deserves. And the most he deserves.
