Active Viewin': Concert Picks for Week of April 23rd, 2012

If you can get over Kathleen Edwards dating castrator Justin Vernon for a moment, or that he produced her excellent 2012 album Voyageur, you might agree with me that as indie folkies go, Kathleen is the one to beat. That is, if she nails it on Saturday at Webster Hall.

Monday – The Vaccines – Webster Hall – After releasing one of the best Brit rock albums of 2011, they are back and at a major venue. Catch em before they start flogging album # 2 on stage.

Tuesday – Emili Sande – MHOW – her first album has been in the UK charts all year, and she will be outgrowing MHOW any day, so catch this soul folkoe singer here while you can.

Wednesday – Miike Snow –  Terminal 5 – Album two is out there and they still haven't followed up "Animal". However, they bring it live.

Thursday – The Wombats – Webster Hall – Another English band who haven't lived up to their potentiall. However, their potential was sky high.

Friday – Jack White – Webster – Who the fuck is the booker for Webster Hall?

Sunday – La Dispute – Bowery Ballroom – First rate hardcore band
