MFT – 4 – 18 – 12

1.April Say You Will – Art Garfunkel – Soundtrack to the classic sequence (recently parodied by the Simpsons) like a stone skipping through the cement pond of summer. In definably Los Angeles. Except, the weather is blisterring hot in the sequence, the song is definably nyc, Paul Simon who wrote it is obviously thinking local, and Dustin Hoffman looks like half my friends here (as well as me, in the 1990s people thought I was either him or Al Pacino). Grade: A+

2. Thinkin' About You – Frank Ocean – Maybe he would be better as a songwriter? Grade: A

3. Ton Petit Ours En Peluche – Johnny Halliday – A Presley cover, taken a touch to fast, and the arrangement is a little fast. But Halliday's phrasing is perfect. Grade: B+

4. The World As I See It – Jason Mraz – Good for one song and only when my friend Alix Wartell sings it. And this ain't that. Grade: B-

5. To The Sea – Jack Hohnson – I'd like to drown him in it. Grade: C-

6. Portland, Oregon – Loretta Lynn – A pathetic misuse of a genius by the asinine Jack White – Grade: C

7. Times Is Hard – Loudon Wainwright III – Yeah, well, that ukelel ain't helping any – Grade: B

8.Mile And Alcohol – Dr. Feelgood – If you had lived in the UK just around the time punk hit, this was the last great moment of pub rock. Grade: A-

9. Kid A – Radiohead – For a non believer like myself, their finest moment – Grade: A

10. In The Dark – Dev – Modern pop music, and a bt more – Grade: B+
