Giving the term acting with your eyebrows whole new vistas of meaning, please meet Lily Collins as Snow White. A pretty, hairy sorta Snow White givem a girl power twist in the Julia Roberts vehicle, "Mirror Mirror".
This is one sad retell, a sort of twisted structuring in pink and pastales as Julia Roberts Evil Queen drugs the King with a love potion, disposses of him and then, instead of doing what any normal wicked Queen qwould do, and slitting the then pre-teen Snow Whites throat from one end to the other, waits till she is a rebellious teenager to take her own.
You know the story, more or les, after that, in this baffling lousy movie. really, if the dialogue was a bit tighter the movie could have worked. The 7 Dwarfs are charming enough, neither the Prince nor the Princess are the worst things in the Universe, and Julia Roberts gives her terrible jokes a lotta top spin. The design is pretty in a chick flick way, and if you have ever wanted to see Nathan Lane in excrutiating pain as an actor and as a human being, this is the flick for you.
Music? There is only incidental music, but Snow White is played by Phil Collins daughter who looks nothing like him. My bet is she looks like her Mom and my other bet is her Mom was a model.
One more caveat? Those eyebrows gave me nightmares.
