1. Out Of Time – Elvis Costello – Costello wraps his lips round every single word of Jagger's devastating put down, managing to sneer and find extra venor venom on lines like "out of here without a doubt". Devastating benius. Grade: A+
2. April Fool – Patti Smith – For the first time in decades, Patti writes a pop song The clue is the keyboard. Quite lovely though the bridge loses its way for 30 seconds. grade: B+
3. Dance Again (feat Pitbull) – Jennifer Lopez – No, it isn't "On The Floor" -more of a mid-tempo dance ballad. But it is really, really good product with a lowkey Pitbull and a disco diva Lopez. Grade: B+

5. Movin' On – Justin Townes Earle – I think we both know why – Grade: A
6. Taken for A Fool – The Strokes Feat Elvis Costello – In which the King blows the former youngsters off stage. Grade: A
7. No One Else – Smokie Norful – In a year of new production Gosel, Smokie brings it back on this live recording. Grade: A-
8. Guess Things Happen That Way – Johnny Cash – I saw him sing this at Carnegie, at Hammerstein (a private gig!), at… Grade: A+
9. Love This Life – T.I. – Gorgeous, but the man is stupid beyond belief – Grade: B+
10. My Medicine – The Pretty Reckless – Garage rock – Grade: B+
