“Raining In My Heart” is a snap shot of poodle skirts an finned cars.
If you can listen to this and not picture Mayberry and Junes pie in the window sill…you have no vision.
But lyrically a man (even a high pitched one!) singing this is more emo than any modern day crap could be.
“The sun is out – the sky is blue
there’s not a cloud to spoil the view
but it’s raining – raining in my heart “
The Strings are amazing and I do believe its a piccolo along with them. The music is almost Disney like. But its the the unmistakable voice that draws you in. I love this entire era its simplistic its endearing and this song makes me want to share a soda with 2 straws.
Buddy’s voice is softer but in a a bit flat. I think its intentional. This isn’t a rocker at all, its an ancient style called ‘the ballad’.
It was tough to choose a song to review. “You’re So Square (baby I don’t care) is one of my all time favorites. Sorta sums up my entire philosophy.
“Raining in My Heart” is a bit less well known, so I thought Id dust it off for you.
