William Control "Romance & Devotion" Reviewed

William Control is in the wrong decade.  This song proves it to me.  First the name, the look and now the song off this latest offering.

This is Ultravox 80s gay dance hall, Psychedelic Furs, with a Dash of Human League. Its out of date this is 2012.  There should be no story telling with the techno beat.  We should be hearing lines about getting drunk, getting wasted and fucking- that's it.  Maybe, just a smidgen of anger but none of this lovey dovey mesh tank top leather boy cap stuff.  It simply can only be described fully in one word.

Wonderful.

How nice it is to hear new music with some sense of order.  A great upbeat filler song that isn't telling me what to do or how to feel, just a silly repetitive techno love song.  Considering William Control is on my list of artists I pay no attention to, I can honestly say that I'm glad I stumbled upon this.

Even if the 80s is when you were conceived you'd be robbing yourself of some quality sound if you passed this up.  If you were around in the 80's step back in time with this ditty.
