1. Don't Get Me Wrong – The Pretenders – this song, like so many off those first two albums, was about one of the sexiest voices in the business. Chrissie is all come on, all flirt, all casual tension And it is also a perfect melodic countrpoint to the vocal and lyric, the break seems to be rushing head first into a new romance and the verses and choruses are oddly coy. Grade: A+

2. Under My Thumb – The Rolling Stones – This is a wet dream, a pornographic hard stroke about power and sex, but mostly power. Grade: A

3. You Belong To Me – Elvis Costello And The Attractions – An answer song: "you don't come under his thumb…" a devastating retort. I know, you saw that back in 1978 but I suck at details.

4. All This Glory – Passion – Not bad power rock Christian style. Plus, for a born again band? What a name…

5. Gotta Be You – One Direction – Yeah, kightening didn't strike twice.

6. Crying In My Sleep – Art Garfunkel – Complete disaster for Art but this is a hard druggin' cool as shit song.

7. The Great Escape – Ian Hunter – A hit that wasn't from last year.

8. Prozac Rock – Margot And The Nuclear So And Sos – One of my best friends fave bands, I never got over the band name and see no reason to start here.

9. Serpentine – Peaches

10. New York, NY 10009 – Black 47 – Last year was the Pogues, this year these guys, St Patty's 2013? I'm betting the Saw Doctors.
