Jeffrey Sherman, songwriter Robert Sherman's son, said of his passing that his father "wanted to bring happiness to the world and undoubtedly succeeded."
Along with his brother Richard, the duo wrote some of Disney's and the worlds favorite songs.
The brothers were Disney's go to guys in the second golden age, the 1960s. Together they wrote the scores to Mary Poppins, the Jungle Book, Bed Knobs And Broomsticks…
Song after glorious song, from "Chim Chim Cher-ee" and "Supercaligragiliticexpialidocious" to "The Bare Necessities" as well the only movie to give Disney a run for its money, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang".their "It's A Small World After All" is the most sung song in the world!!
Between the brothers, they have their name on literally 100s of songs. Impressive but 100s of songs that make you happy? For many a baby boomer, these are the songs that defined our pre-teens and more, that bring us, and our children happiness.
