It used to be one of the best booked clubs in the city.
Over the years I've seen Lady Antebellum, Carlene Carter, Ian McLagan, Bob Mould… many others. Always a great experience, always must see people. But since they've come back from hiatus I've been precisely once.
Why?
Because whoever is doing the booking doesn't seem to be able to get the same quality of names. Perhaps shutting down for six months meant too many acts had to search out alernatives and found them. Perhaps they've switched bookers. I dunno, but I will say that it just isn't the same,. I'm tempted to go and see people I don't want to see just because I like the venue.
And I don't.
But the food? What the hell??? Do the words steak and fries mean nothing? Admittedly, it's better than Highline's kitchen, but once you've said that you've said everything.
