1. Icarus – White Hinterland – There appears to be a world of indie folk bands hovering in the netherlands of the public consciousness. They sell out a night at MHOW while I'm trying to figure out who they hell they are. White hinterland are one of the many and I like em fine, this is a beautiful mood piece and worth a listen. From 2010 so they should be back round soon.

2. Man or Muppet – Walter – here's an idea, let's give an Oscar (no, not the grouch) to the Muppets and NOT CHOOSE A SONG WITH ANY MUPPETS ON IT. Morons.

3. Climax – Usher – We can all agree that this is no "Yeah" And we can also agree that Usher is a nasty piece of week. Still, this is an excellent power pop ballad Chris Brown and Trey Songz can't come close to.

4. VIP – Sinead O'Connor – Song of the year? Maybe.

5. Yeah – Usher – Toldja "Climax" was no "yeah"

6. Heart Of Gold – Neil Young – I haven't had much nice to say about Neil since the turn of the century, but, lest we forget, he invented a sound heavily mind to this day: a sort of folk pop by a hard rocker. Tres melodic, very naturalistic. And here is its personification.

7. Maletic Dowery – Of Montreal – I would claim that this is his best song in years but it is really his best song I've noticed in years.

8. Celebration – Tyga

9. Balcony – Craig Finn – what's with the guy with the long fingernails???

10. Losing My Mind – The Cranberries – Age hasn't changed them… unfortunately
