Understandably, Aretha Franklin's brilliant performance last night at Radio City Music Hall has left the queen Of Soul too ill to perform at Whitney's funeral, gong even as I write.
Franklin's performance last night was one for the ages and ended with a triumphant "Greatest Love Of All". She was meant to sing it tday but has fallen sick. Also, she is meant to play a second night at Radio City tonight, but I would be pretty shocked if she makes it.
What I didn't mention last night was just how much it takes out of a person, a performance as magnificent as that.
We wish Aretha a speedy recovery and are pleased to announce she will still be performing tonight at Radio City Music Hall.
