Must See Concert: Vic Goddard And Subway Sect… In London

I am no nostalgist, indeed I'm a futurist if anything, but the wealth of music coming out of the UK in the late 1970s was ridiculous.

Subway Sect, formed in 1976, was one of the original bands , and even at that were never quite three chord wonders. Listen to "Ambition" and what you will hear is a keyboard driven post-punk art rock.

And then… nothing. Vic Goddard broke up the band in 1980 and has mostly released compilations ever since.

But if you are in London on March 10th, Subway Sect are playing a gig st the 229 Club and at a measly ten pounds (figure twenty bucksish) it is a must see. If I didn't have to add a grand for travelling from nyc I'd go!

Added incentive? Paul Cook, the Sex Pistols drummer, will be joining the band for the night.

I would bet Goddard could fill an Irving Plaza and make a profit on a coupla days visit to us. Wadja say, guy?
